One open question is who's driving the Biden administration. The man himself is largely invisible. There's got to be a furious battle of factions, but this hasn't leaked enough to understand yet.

My assumption is that the Cabinet is in constant informal dialogue with the DNC but that, for a short period, the so-called 'deep state' (which has largely been captured as much as it captures the Democrats in turn) is really in control, pursuing policies that were integral to the evolving Clinton-Obama approach to global management. I am not sure this is at all factional ... the 'core' of the Democrat-State project strikes me as very coherent (even if it is often extremely inept). It is determined on setting the conditions not only for recovery of office in four years but ensuring that this core also retains control of the Party and so of the future of the country, reasserting the old triangulated order in 2029 as if nothing had happened and Trump and populism were mere historical blips to be overcome.
