Ed Milliband ... lol.

NATO being caught out dead or alive in UA, not to mention biolab facilities so far buried physically and virtually, is a Really Big Issue.

I think everyone ‘knows’ that NATO is dabbling at multiple levels in the Ukraine War and that individual NATO countries have been or are much deeper in the game than anyone is allowed to know.

To be fair, we do not ‘know’ that there is any NATO presence in Pokrovsk but it is hard not to believe that ‘advisers’ would not be present in some capacity in the central logistical centre for the Ukrainian front line.

Eaxactly what they might be doing (if they were there) is also obscure - merely observing, providing logistical and training support, providing and interpreting active intelligence, planning operations or participant (which is unlikely) - and it remains possible, of course, that they are not there at all. iF they were there, exactly what they were doing is relevant to the 'casus belli' point.

It is in the Russian interest to big this up (for the moment) and for the Western interest to deny so we are just going to have to wait until something material appears that justifies any claims. Until then, it is probably best to remain neutral and trust neither side.

I think this applies to Biolabs as well. This is or was a big thing for Russian propagandists and that alone should make one suspicious but, on the principle of there being no smoke without fire, it seems likely that the claims are based on something - perhaps the US military authorities liked the idea of testing biomaterial or defence against biomaterial in a tame jurisdiction or perhaps this is just an elaboration of off balance sheet pharma research.

Certainly there has been no rush on the Western side to try and deal with the claims by vigorous evidenced denial as if something embarrassing was going on. Old Soviet science did have a great deal to contribute both to legitimate healthcare and to bio-weapons research. Charitably, it might even be that the West was seeking to ensure that such research remained well away from terrorist groups by sponsoring aspects of it itself. Who knows?
